Let’s keep the Revolution rolling! The Bike Kitchen needs volunteers. This meeting is being planned to address issues that have come up over the past few months so that we can reopen. That’s unfortunately true; the bike kitchen is currently closed. We plan on opening in the New Year with your support.

We have closed the bike kitchen because we do not have enough volunteer support to maintain the flow of youth from the community. Issues that have arisen due to a shortage of volunteers is: the bike kitchen is often left a crazy mess, parts have been miss placed, people take more then they contribute and there are often 10 youth in the bike kitchen a day with little supervision.

What we need to do: regroup, build storage spaces that can be locked up, build storage spaces to keep the place organized, have volunteers for set hours to keep the space open, continue to build a vision together.

The Kitchen being closed is not because of a lack of interest it is because one person can’t maintain the kitchen everyday of the month. Your presence at the meeting and volunteer support for even one day a month will go a far way. So bike on down to the Free Bike Kitchen and lets get dirty!
