Micro_Gestures at the Edge of Invisibility will be an On/Off line space for MFA artists in the Visual Arts Department at UCSD to explore and present works at the edge of invisibility, at the edge of the digital and biological, at the edge of micro-robotics and nano-art, from in-virtu to in-vivo works and back.

Tristan Shone received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2000 and is now working towards his MFA at UCSD.  After completing his BS, he worked in the high tech R&D sector for over 6 years with Corning (IntelliSense), PerkinElmer (Life and Analytical Sciences), and MicroCHIPS Corporation primarily on laboratory automation design and robotics.  During this time he has also worked in installation design on 3D modeling, motion control and fabrication.  His most recent work is based in robotics and automation reflecting on the high tech corporate control structures, both socially and technically.
